Fall Creek Falls Aug 2010

Aug 27-29, 2010 - Cabin Trip to Fall Creek Falls, TN: 15 people made the trip to one of the most beautiful parks in the Southeast US. On Fri nite, we were treated to a low country boil prepared by the chief cook Karen. On Sat nite, we had baked chicken, and for breakfasts, we had pancakes and eggs and sausages and all kinds of stuff. But besides the great food, we did a hike to the base of the falls, after doing several overlooks. We crossed a suspension bridge which hangs precipitously over the creek far below. Some played games on Fri nite. Some did canoeing on Sat after the hike, while others went swimming. We had karaoke on Sat nite. The weather was wonderful - sunny with highs in the mid 80s during the day, and welcome cool temps of low 60s during the day. Everybody who wanted a rustic cabin all to themselves got it. We also had campfires both Fri and Sat nite. It was a weekend full of fun and adventure. We only get to this park once every few years, so in the future, if you get a chance, sign up for it, esp if you have never been. It will be a weekend you will always remember.
